stopped here after finding it on google while looking for vegan food in New Haven and so glad we did! really lovely spot with proper British pub feel and delicious food - we had the southern fried tofu sando which was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had out. highly highly recommend!

The Cannon has seriously strong roots, big goals and more heart than you see most places. We stopped in after hearing of it's opening St. Patrick's day weekend and was warmly greeted by Kevin (who we later found out was the owner), pulled up a seat at the bar, and took in the atmosphere. Relaxed soccer club, punk bar vibes, with (not over the top) hipness. They didn't have bar service (but soon!), but did have a cool menu that was Vegan and Vegetarian! They put the effort in everywhere it counts, fresh baked bread, house made sauces, and approach the food with finesse and respect. Yes- it's still getting its legs but I fully expect this to be the in town spot for many!

We drove to The Cannon from New London for the North London Derby, and we were not disappointed! A quaint pub with friendly service. The food menu is vegan. A must if you are a Gooner!

Friendly staff, cool drinks, a fully vegan menu now (including batter deep fried oyster mushrooms, burgers, and wraps), a couple of rainbow flags, and a free range dog getting some treats. I kinda love it here.

My wife is vegan and it's always difficult for both of us to have a good meal. We found The Cannon and decided to check it out I can honestly say I didn't leave hungry and the vegan/vegetarian food was excellent Will definitely check it out again. Staff was friendly full bar looks like a nice after hours place as well. Parking is a little difficult only on street parking and finding a spot isn't easy.

Little slow on the particular day we went but we didn't mind. We like slow British or Irish pub style places and it gives that vibe. Great food, yummy curry sauce, pleasantly surprised by hard cider and mulled cider special on a freezing winter day. Bonus that they bartender was rocking a 90s ska playlist that day and we loved the throw back. Seemed like chill people. If we lived in town I bet we'd be regulars. Vegan haven! If you eat meat, you won't miss it.

Walked into this neich place and I'm so glad we did. Vegan food done right with an atmosphere that I would hang out in all night and watch a game! Excellent selection of beers including some eclectic ones. Bartender was on point with the spirits as well. We got sat and ordered and had our food relatively quick. The fried oyster mushrooms were out of this world. The chef knows his stuff. Can't rave enough about this place.

We had a delightful brunch at this cozy little bar. We found that they have an almost entirely vegan menu, which is what we always go for when available. The vegan menu is fantastic, portions are big, lovely presentation and left happy and full. We shared the Full Breakfast (very much like an English Breakfast: tofu scramble, grilled tomato and mushrooms, roasted potatoes, carrot bacon, and beans). We also had the tofu scramble wrap and the avocado toast. TBH the carrot bacon needs some work but I think they are really trying to fine-tune their menu. Our server/manager, Jake, was great. We spent some time talking about menu and told me they will be offering pies, like steak and ale! He even gave me one to try. We will be back!

I don't drink alcohol but decided to try The Cannon's vegan menu for brunch on graduation weekend. I had the "Premier Plate" and it was yummy delicious! The bartender who took the order and served my dish was very friendly, courteous and professional. Highly recommend.

If you're an avid vinyl record collector this is the place to be. Last Saturday of each month a few seasons djs gather here. Yale students come thru as well. Friendly atmosphere, great service. Attentive staff. This is a bar that serves vegan fare. I had fries and a glass of pinot. Definitely coming back.
